Thunderbolt For 2010 Mac Pro
Mac Pro & alternatives to Thunderbolt Note: I’ve updated this post to reflect information received about alternative technologies. When I purchased my 12 core Mac Pro in 2010 I knew it wouldn’t be the hottest machine for long, it’s just the way technology goes. The 2013 Mac Pro sports an amazing six Thunderbolt 2 ports, three times as many as any other currently shipping Mac. How to show you are away on skype for business mac download. And while you can attach up to six devices per port, resulting in an insane.
Mac Mini:: Mid 2010 Has A Thunderbolt Port? Jun 4, 2012 I know that my Mac-mini (mid-2010) is not supposed to have a Thunderbolt port but, it does. No question about that. Maybe it's a prototype or transitional config. I have connected a Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter in order to show presentations on different LCD projectors but no image appear. The external monitor is detected but no image is shown.
I have tried to change the frequencies: parts of the screen appears but no a correct image. I have the same symptoms with the 2 Macbook Pro. Using old Macbook Pro with the same Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter, the slides are showns normally. I make a test with a Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter and with a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter and everythings works correctly with both adapters.
Info: MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.4) Mar 23, 2012 With my 'old' Intel iMac using a Display Port adapter, my 24' LG Monitor would be detected correctly and worked first time. With my new 2011 iMac 27 using a genuine Apple mini DisplayPort adapter plugged into the Thunderbolt port, this same monitor now shows up as a generic VGA monitor and the range of resolutions is severely reduced - basically it looks terrible. I've tried disconnecting the cable, reconnecting, using the second Thunderbolt, changing resolutions, detecting displays, showing displays in the menu bar. All with no success. Info: iMac May 9, 2012 I have a MBP 2.66 GHz Intel Core i7 and have tryed to connect a Lacie Thunderbolt eSATA Hub to the Thunderbolt port. 1 Will it work with the Thunderbolt Display port? 2/ Why won't it see and Thunderbolt devices in the Systems Report? Info: MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.3) May 20, 2010 I know there are a couple of topics around here about this, but none of them are very clear.
So, I'm looking for a mini displayport to HDMI adapter that supports sound. No extra USB or 3,5mm jack for sound. It also would be nice if the product was available in Europe (Netherlands) otherwise the shipping cost are just too high. Jun 5, 2012 I use MBP (late 2011). I find the hunderbolt port to be similar to the mini-display port of older mac. I wish to have another display, but not ready to spend $999 over a thunderbolt display from mac. So would like to know if a Mini-diaplay port converter from apple would help me connect a exernal display via the thunderbolt port?
Info: MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.4) Jun 8, 2012 I made a bit of a stuff up and bought the wrong drive for a friends iMac.I incorrectly took his specification down as being a 2011 iMac when it was actually a 2010. This meant I specified a thunderbolt drive (Promise Pegasys R4) thinking the iMac has thunderbolt. I was wrong!! It only has mini display and Firewire 800.I see some thunder bolt to firewire docks are due out soon but is there a product that will allow me to add a thunderbolt interface to the iMac?Something along the lines of a PCI type card or a Firewire 800 to thunderbolt adapter? Info: iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.4), 27' Mar 16, 2010 Relevant newbie to the mac world.
I have a MBP late 2009. I bought a third party Mini display port to HDMI converter so I can hook the MBP to my 46' Samsung screen. This works fine, no major issues here. However the picture is not great. Torrent download office for mac 2011. I compared watching a standard definition TV show through the MBP then burnt it onto a DVD. The DVD (using the PS3 as my DVD drive, connected via HDMI) had superior quality than through the MBP.

Also the picture does not quite fill the screen. There is a small black border running all the way around the screen. Does not sound significant but when doing the same comparison as above, you notice the difference when via DVD the movie fills the screen. I have played around with the resolution settings. Those that fill the screen chop bits of the mac desktop off, so thats no good either. So I am wondering why this is? Is it because the mini display port is not a DVI port, hence I am not getting true HD quality picture?
A simple install of a “educational” distribution on a older, or even on a new laptop / desktop can give your child the tools to excel in there education this year. Open source mac software for word press. Do you have an older laptop, or desktop laying around the house, being used as a door stop because it just for some reason just got slower and slower, laden with viruses & spy-ware, or “I just need a new one.” If you would like to give some life back to that computer being used as a doorstop, why not try one of the educational “Linux” distributions out?
