Transfer Word For Mac To New Computer

Hello I have a 4 yr old Dell PC running Win 7 Prof 32 bit with Office Home & Business 2010. I purchased my current PC from Dell and ordered it with Office Home & Business 2010 installed. I did NOT get any discs for Office, just an activation key.

Allow the transfer to complete before removing the flash or external hard drive from your computer. Step Insert the USB flash drive or external drive into the computer to which you want to transfer the fonts and navigate to its location. Apparently, if I should need to reload my Office, I would be unable to. I am now thinking of getting Office 2016 Home & Business (for one PC) and putting it on my machine but what happens should my current PC stop working and I need to get a new PC? Will I be able to 'transfer' or re-download my Office 2016 product? If I am unable to un-install Office 2016 from the old computer do I have to spend $200+ again? Thanks for any advice Barb. Hi Barb, Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community. Usually, the Office suite which comes preinstalled on the computer would be an OEM License and cannot be transferred to a different computer. If you want to install Office 2016 on a new computer, you first need to uninstall it from the existing computer, then install and activate it on the new computer. If you face any issues in uninstalling Office 2016, you may run Fix it from the following article to remove the Office suite.

If you face any issues in activating the Office suite after installation, you may try activating over the telephone as mentioned in the following article. Hope this information helps. If you have any other queries related to Office products, feel free to reply and I’ll be glad to assist you.

Microsoft has for its Office 2013 productivity suite, which now allows you to transfer serial numbers to new systems and activate it to allow the software to work. Office is one of the more popular (if not required) programs for many activities, so having it on a system is often quite convenient to have; however, Microsoft has had an ongoing licensing restriction with its latest Office versions that prevents you from activating a previously used serial number on newer systems, even if you have uninstalled the software from prior systems. This setup obviously frustrates those who need to purchase new computers; however, recently Microsoft has changed this policy to now allow people to transfer their licenses without restrictions. Even though this news pertains primarily to Office 2013, that the changes also affect the licensing for Office 2011 for Mac, so if you run into problems activating licenses on new systems that you have previously activated on other systems, then you will now be able to do so. However, you must first uninstall the license from the original computer before you can successfully install it on a new system.
